Speaking to reporters on Sunday evening, the prime minister said he is going back with lot of achievements as the talks were very positive and both sides inked ten agreements in the fields of education, environment, research and development and building an oil storage project at Zadco’s Zarco Island besides others. Italian prime minister said he had “very successful’’ talks with the UAE leadership that covered variety of issues including regional and international situation, including Iran, Egypt and Syria. The premier said he was going home ‘full of hope’ for starting a strategic cooperation with the UAE, which was very important for his nation. Enrico Letta was confident over the announcement made by Etihad Airways and Alitalia, the national airlines of Italy for holding non-stop talks over a possible stake in the cash-strapped airlines, which needs capital injection. The Prime Minister said,” we need to have a strategic investment for the future. And, we need to have not only a financial investment but a strategic industrial partnership between the companies able to go together to have a strong cooperation.” The prime minister said his country has come out of financial crisis on its own without the help of the European Union, that’s why Italy was the best place for investment by the Sovereign wealth funds of the UAE. He congratulated the nation for winning the bid for hosting the Expo2020, and said Italy which is organising the expo next year in Milan, can share its experience for a successful hosting with Dubai. The prime minister said during his interaction with the leadership, he was impressed that they are discussing the issues relating to the post Expo2020.
