Shaikh Mohammed receives Apple CEO Tim Cook (Wam) / 3 February 2014 Shaikh Mohammed and Cook discussed an array of issues regarding future of the IT sector in the backdrop of international transformations. His Highness Shaikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice-President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai, received Apple CEO Tim Cook on Sunday. Shaikh Maktoum bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Deputy Ruler of Dubai, was also present. Shaikh Mohammed and Cook discussed an array of issues regarding future of the IT sector in the backdrop of international transformations and the sector’s role in developing and advancing education. Shaikh Mohammed hailed Apple’s role in developing technology and IT-based education worldwide. Cook credited the UAE as one of the leading role models in application of e-government and it is on track to introduce smart government under the patronage and directives of Shaikh Mohammed, whom he praised as a visionary leader who holds constructive breakthrough initiatives especially in education and IT in order to position the UAE government in general and Dubai government in particular among the firsts using technology in management and services. Mohammed bin Abdullah Al Gargawi, Minister for Cabinet Affairs, and other senior officials attended the meeting. Humanitarian stance of UAE leaders hailed (Wam) / 3 February 2014 Shaikh Mohammed receives Italian Prime Minister Enrico Letta and his accompanying delegation in Dubai. His Highness Shaikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice-President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai, received on Sunday Prime Minister of Italy Enrico Letta and his accompanying delegation, at his palace in Zabeel. Present at the meeting was Shaikh Hamdan bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Crown Prince of Dubai. Shaikh Mohammed and Letta exchanged talks on a number of mutual and regional issues in the presence of Shaikh Maktoum bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Deputy Ruler of Dubai, and Shaikh Mansour bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Presidential Affairs. Shaikh Mohammed writes to Bahraini Crown Prince (Wam) / 31 January 2014 The letter was delivered by UAE Ambassador to Bahrain Mohammed Sultan Al Suwaidi when he met Prince Salaman on Thursday at Al Rifaa Palace in Manama. His Highness Shaikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice-President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai, has sent a letter to Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, Crown Prince of Bahrain, Deputy Supreme Commander and First Deputy Prime Minister of Bahrain, dealing with bilateral relations. The letter was delivered by UAE Ambassador to Bahrain Mohammed Sultan Al Suwaidi when he met Prince Salaman on Thursday at Al Rifaa Palace in Manama. Prince Salman said he was proud with the strong fraternal ties between the two countries. He lauded the role played by the UAE in supporting the progress of the GCC and the Arab joint action. He asked the UAE Ambassador to pass on his greetings to Shaikh Mohammed and his wishes of further progress and prosperity to the people of the UAE.
