More grey skies expected Staff Reporter / 27 April 2013 As the country sees the transition from winter to summer, it will continue to witness cloudy and rainy weather conditions for the next three days, according to National Centre for Meteorology and Seismology (NCMS). Bad weather hampered parts of the country on Friday, with temperatures plunging by three to four degrees on an average as compared with the previous few days, while up to 11 millimetres of rain fell in Owtaid, in the UAE’s Western Regions. “It may increase”, an NCMS spokesman said. He said the whole country had experienced rain showers, though it was the Western Regions, south of the country and Abu Dhabi which were the worst hit areas. The lowest temperature recorded was 15 degrees Celsius in Ras Al Khaimah’s Jebel Jess, on Friday morning, while parts of Fujairah were still at 34 degrees Celsius. The spokesman said today’s weather should be similar to that if Friday’s, with light to moderate rainfall and cloudy skies. Temperatures should be the same in the region, as well. NCMS advised motorists to take precaution on the roads and suggested boating enthusiasts should avoid going out to the sea. nissar@khaleejtimes.com Taylor Scott International
